Event trails

Layer a trail over any Chamber event and a one-day crowd becomes measurable, town-wide activity — explorers moving from booth to shop to winery, with every step counted.

Blackberry Festival

August

The trail: A festival-wide hunt: solve riddles at vendor booths and downtown shops to win a “Blackberry Champion” badge and prize drawing entry.

Chamber value: Keeps festival crowds moving between booths and into nearby storefronts — turning a one-day event into measurable downtown spend.

Wine Walk

Spring & Fall

The trail: Each tasting room is a trail stop with a story and a stamp. Explorers who complete the loop unlock a bonus pour or keepsake.

Chamber value: Encourages visitors to reach every winery on the trail — not just the first two — spreading traffic across all participating members.

Downtown Merchant Trail

Year-round

The trail: An always-on trail through Central Avenue shops. New riddles rotate monthly to keep locals coming back.

Chamber value: Gives small retailers a steady reason for repeat visits and a way to measure which promotions actually drive customers in.

Haunted History (Seasonal)

October

The trail: A spooky-season trail of local legends and historic sites, with the Keeper narrating each reveal.

Chamber value: A family-friendly seasonal draw that extends visitor dwell time and showcases Sutherlin’s heritage.

Holiday Lights Trail (Seasonal)

December

The trail: Find the hidden ornaments at participating businesses and complete your holiday Passport for a grand-prize drawing.

Chamber value: Drives December foot traffic to member shops during the most important retail month of the year.

How an event trail works

  1. 1 The Chamber spins up an event trail and invites member businesses to add a stop.
  2. 2 Attendees play on their phones — solving riddles and collecting stamps as they go.
  3. 3 Each stop drives a visit and (optionally) a reward redemption at a member.
  4. 4 Afterward, the Chamber sees exactly who participated, where they went, and the spend it generated.
